The Lobbying Arena

It’s the first day of THIMUN and that can only mean one thing: lobbying.
The doors open, and suddenly the arena comes to life. Delegates spill into the corridors, clutching resolutions like carefully guarded supplies, scanning the room the way tributes scan the Cornucopia. Much like the Hunger Games, alliances form fast and every conversation feels like it could change the course of the Games. Only here, the goal is not survival but cooperation, persuasion and a well timed handshake.

As in Panem, every delegate brings something valuable to the table. Some arrive with sharp clauses and crisp resolutions; others bring charisma, confidence and an uncanny ability to convince five countries at once that their idea is absolutely essential. A nod across the room can mean support, and a quick rewrite can turn “rivals” into allies.
Yet, unlike the Hunger Games, this arena is fueled by optimism. Delegates lift each other up, build stronger resolutions together and realize that the best outcomes come from collaboration. By the end of lobbying, pages are fuller, blocs are bigger and the once intimidating arena feels more like a victory space. After all, everyone here shares a common goal: diplomacy.

As lobbying ends and committees prepare to begin, delegates leave the Lobbying Arena not as lone tributes but as teams ready to take on debate. If this is just Day One, the conference is already looking immensely promising. So, if you are reading this: may the odds be ever in your favour and let the Games begin!
